As part of its contribution to achieving the 30 per cent broadband penetration in the country by 2018, Coollink has unveiled a new satellite broadband Internet service.
The Chief Executive Officer, Coollink, Shahin Nouri, said the new service, which had been dubbed ‘Asta’, meaning ‘Star’ in Danish, was unique for many reasons.
He said, “Asta is a unique product where the KA band broadband is really improved. There is no limit to its penetration because it covers all over Nigeria so that you can have high speed broadband anywhere in the country. He explained that Nigerians should expect an increase in broadband penetration, which would generate employment, grant communities in remote and rural areas access to e-Learning platforms and broaden the Small and Medium Enterprises’ customer base, among several other benefits.
According to the Senior Technical Manager at Coollink, Abdurrahman Mubi, the service is tailored towards the needs and demands of Nigerian consumers as it covers the majority of the Nigerian
territory and offers features such as speed of up to 20Mbps, data rollover and free night zone.
“We have designed Asta to strategically meet the needs of the Nigerian market and to provide a better satellite broadband experience that is customised for the region,” Mubi said.
He added, “The feedback received from consumers during the soft launch period has been highly positive and encouraging. Several clients have already replaced their terrestrial service with Asta due to the high speed, consistency and reliability it offers.”
The Service Delivery Manager at Coollink, Tayo Sadare, said “We have registered nationwide and Africa-wide partners to ensure that Asta is available to consumers all over.
“We have one of the most reliable and diverse network capabilities; so you can increase up-time, improve scalability, and materialise operational efficiency. We are not your typical ISP – we own our network; we master our solutions, and always go the extra mile.”
